Coaching and Advocacy rooted in experience

Dan Mirsky, MEd

Learning, advocacy and relationship-building are at the core of what I do. Over the course of 20 years of classroom instruction, I dedicated myself to specifically identifying and advocating for students with diverse cognitive profiles who experienced a wide range of challenges. I myself struggled acutely with organizational and attentional issues as a young learner , and that was in a time before there was a widespread understanding of Executive Functioning or even ADD and ADHD. I know how it feels to be a student in a classroom who feels marginalized - on the outside looking in - and I have always been drawn to working with students who need a bit more. I have worked intensively in a wide range of private, alternative and public schools with students across the spectrum of age and ability. As a coach, teacher, advisor and advocate, I embrace the unique challenges and potential of each individual student. The relationship I build with kids and families, paired with an extensive array of evidence-based practices and interventions, informs my holistic approach as an Academic and Executive Function Coach.
